Health and Safety

Overview

In our efforts to maintain a healthy environment for our students and staff, we require that each child have a completed health physical form, including immunizations and TB test results, signed by a doctor upon enrollment. Physicals must be updated every two years. The health of all children in the centers is important to us; therefore, we ask that you follow the guidelines listed below:

Please refrain from sending your child to school if he/she has displayed any of the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:

  • Fever (a child will be sent home if he/she possesses a fever of 100.4 or higher)
  • Vomiting
  • Heavy nasal discharge
  • Constant cough
  • Rash
  • Red eyes with discharge
  • Diarrhea

Please notify the center if your child will be absent. A doctor’s note is required for children returning to school after a contagious disease.

Medicines

Medicines (prescriptions and over the counter) that remain in their original containers with complete labels may be administered to your child by a director if accompanied by a doctor’s note. Please give the medication and instructions to the office and complete/sign the medicine log.

What to wear

Your children will be very active and engaged in hands-on learning, which can cause them to become dirty at school. Please dress kids in clothing that is appropriate, comfortable and seasonal. Please send your child in comfortable shoes that are safe for active play. Children of all ages will go outside year round, weather permitting. Please be sure to send coats, hats and gloves as the weather gets colder. During warmer months, please layer shorts under dresses.
